** spoiler alert ** Fun book about a southern belle whose family is not very wealthy anymore. She "entertains" a different married man every night but Monday. They give her money to help her out. Her brother is in and out of jail, her mother is going senile, and she has a son from a highschool beau who was black. The son lives with his great aunt and no on knows about him but Georgia sends money to help support him. Georgia supplements her income by buying quilts made by some old black women and then selling them as her own in a local store. It all comes to head a head when her preacher tries to expose her, her brother escapes from jail, her best friend leaves town, her son arrives in town, and a local tv stations airs a program about the very women Georgia buys her quits from. She packs her family up and heads to New Orleans - often mentioned as the place where she wants to live out her days.
Really enjoyed but wanted to be be longer and more in-depth.
