I found this book very fascinating. Maybe partly because I lived so long in Iowa, and knew about some of the places they mentioned. I was amazed that the 11 girls stayed so close even though living far apart from each other and having young families. They continued to get together once or twice a year! I became very nostalgic for my own female friendships, especially those from my childhood.
This book was horrible. While I enjoyed the setting and felt the atmosphere and style held promise for a great story, the plot was confusing, circular, and failed to explain itself.
it was entertaining for sure, i; not sure i've learned any thing form it.
This was my first foray into romance novels. Going into it, I didn't know anything about it other than a recommendation from a friend who described it more like historical fiction with a bit of romance. It was definitely more in the romance novel vein than I was anticipating. Nonetheless, it was good. I only thought the main bad guy was a bit too over the top. But other than that, the character development was great and I loved the time travel element combined with the historical setting.
