I know this book is typically well reviewed and even won the Nobel Prize, but it was not for me. The writing was beautiful but the main character was unbearable (I honestly think it's just me, he wasn't meant to be that way). I felt like he was always walking around feeling sorry for himself and it really got on my nerves. Incidentally, if you have ever read A House for Mr. Biswas (V.S. Naipaul) the main character was equally whiney and annoying. Suck it up already!
