Famous books are hard to review. Books by infamousy famous and overly-referenced authors are hard to review. This book is haunting and fun to read and probably the best place to start if you haven't read pynchon. Oedipa Mass is ever-endearing and she is as in love with the tediousness of California as I am. This book, like anything Pynchon writes, is a cirtuitous maze that seems to be testing you. But it's not really testing you and doesn't really care if you understand any of it. It's a joy to read and the characters are of course ludicrous. Very haunting and delightful. One of my most re-read books.
