Bruce Feiler traces the major events from the Five Books of Moses (the first five books in the Hebrew Bible: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy), traveling through Mesopotamia (modern Turkey), Canaan (modern Israel), Egypt, Sinai, and Moab (modern Jordan). He writes in a very engaging way about both the biblical stories and the modern situations in the places he visits. A fast read.
