Honestly... All I got from this is wow, what a spoiled rotten brat. Plath clearly suffers from depression but she also suffers from white girl syndrome: I'm average and boring, so I might as well be a burden to everyone around me. I get it... she lived in a time where white women were trying to be equal to white men in the working world. From my perspective Black woman, I don't give a crap. When she kicks "the negro" worker, I was done. I really do not care about her or her troubles... This is not a story about a failed dream... this is a story about a woman who was so arrogant that she coasted on mediocrity and then couldn't handle it when the world told her that it wasn't good enough. She had the scholarships, awards, etc. but did nothing to keep them or utilize them. If she was anyone else, she'd be called a fool.
