Even more simplistic than 'Said the Shotgun to the Head' Saul Williams fills this book with some of the most beautiful small words and short lines. It has a short sweet and airy tone that is very different from his voice on his album Amethyst Rocks. His poetry here is lie small pieces of thoughts taken out of this boys broken heart/fearful dreams. The poems do not string together to create some overwhelming Tidal Wave like Amethyst Rocks or even Shotgun, but it takes small fragments of how we feel when we feel tender and fits them together in this small blue book. It is really wonderful. A perfect gift for a close close friend who appreciates spoken word poetry. Also check out his newer book "Said the Shotgun to the Head" and hsi albums "Amethyst Rocks" and "Saul Williams". All good.
