** spoiler alert ** The host is about a soul who is put into a resisting girl. The girl is always in the souls mind, or the girls depending the perspectve you look from, and wont leave it alone because the girl wants her body back. Now months after the soul was placed into her host, she is still having nightmares and still cant figure out what there is to know about all the other human resistors. Then when the girl (Melanie Styder) tries to keep the secret of her brother being alive it finally slips out during the night in a dream... along with how she meet her true love Jared. Once the soul was introduced to Jared she starts to have feelings for him too, she feels the same things Melanie is feeling.... the love, pain, loss, determination to make sure that they are never found until the soul is out of her body (at least thats what i thought when i was reading the book). So the soul (wanderer) has finally had enough. She is on her way to Chicago to speak with the healer who put her in Melanie's body... Dr. Fords deep waters. Wanderer does not like shuttles so the only way to get to Chicago is go by car... so she does, but on her way she stops to get gas and something to eat because she has forgotten to eat that day in the rush to leave and get on the road. Then sometghing unespected happens. Melanie starts to talk her into going to find Jared and Jamie (Melanie's true love and brother) because the shape of the mountains looks like the map her uncle Jeb had drawn on the back of the photo album. So Melanie talked Wanderer into going to search for them and hope that they will find them. After getting all the things that she will need Wanderer and Melanie start off to find their true love. After 3 days of traveling in the desert Melanie and Wanderer find an old house and after a few minutes of mental debating they decide to go into the house; there they find old newspapers, a box of crackers, and bottles of bleach. But instead of bleach filled bottles they are filled with water. So they rest for a while and then set out again. Melanie and Wanderer have now run out of water and food and are tired and they are about to die because they have nothing left to drink or eat so they eventually find a tree and pass out while waiting to die. A while later Wanderer is woken to water pouring over her face. She wakes to find Uncle Jeb pouring water in her mouth so she wont die. Then he leaves and comes back with a group of people to see what they are supposed to do with Wanderer (who is actually Melanie and they dont know that). What they decide is that they will take her back and then they will figure out what to do with her. Once Melanie and Wanderer get back to the cave they have ups and downs and they get hit and then they feel love and everthings okay and then its not and then something else happens. At the end of the book Wanderer deciedes she has had enough fun and that now is time for her final death and so she makes a deal with the doc. She shows him how to take a soul out of a human and he in return will take her out of Melanie so that she can have her own body back and that wanderer can die. The doc agrees and so once Wanderers time had come he acts upon his agreements and takes her out of Melanie... but then she wakes up realizing that she is in a different body. So now Wanderer can stay with the one she loves, Ian, and now Melanie had her own body and she can love jared and her brother and all her friends will treat her just the same as before the souls had invaded the Earth. I thought that this was a great book and it is so much better than twilight that anyone who likes to read should read this book at least once in their lifetime even if they dont like this stuff they should read it just to claim they did. THIS BOOK IS JUST THAT AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
