It took forever for me to really get into this book, but the slow build totally paid off at the end!!

Fitgerald is so articulate! I really felt like I was a first-hand witness to the many well-illustrated events in the novel. I could truly picture every scene and character with exactness. By reading this book, it is easy to see how similar people are today, despite the change in time period. You see how ridiculous and detestable the shallow folks are; they value all of the wrong things, and consequently ruin their own lives. This book offers a good perspective on the kinds of things that happen when people govern themselves by entertainment and pleasure rather than morality and order. I highly recommend this book.
