Tracks is a highly enjoyable travelogue of a 27-year-old city woman stubbornly following her dream of taking camels alone across the vast desert of Australia in the 1970s. Robyn is an amiable storyteller, and is both humorous and blunt when it comes to dealing with various trials and tribulations of her trip (including sleeping with the National Geographic photographer assigned to document her journey!). Her realtionships with her animals, both her camels and her trusty dog, will resonate with animal-lovers.

The illustrations are the best part. I just imagine coming across some of these woodcuts and thinking, WTF? It's a significant part of the true Heinlein canon and I've read it to pieces. But Mr. Heinlein sexual obsession, begun in I Will Fear No Evil, accelerates in this work. Great stories, nice collection of 'wisdoms' and a must.
