3.5 stars. Liked it but maybe just not as much as some of the other books I've been reading lately. I was able to get emotionally attached to the character, which is great. And I look forward to reading the second book to see where it goes from here. The ending definitely left it open for the second book - so it felt more like a season finale making you hang on for more. Hope that the sequel lives up.
