Going into A Walk to Remember, I was reading through it with the movie vaguely in my mind. I do not really remember the movie, only the part when I figured out that Mandy Moore’s character was sick. The rest was a mystery, a pleasant mystery I might add. With the scenes unfolding before me, I was surprised by the fact that I really like this book. When I saw that it was a short 200 pages with big font, I automatically thought I would get through it quickly and it would not have any affect. I am glad I was wrong. Landon and Jaime, the main characters, are like two regular people that you can know from any part of the world. Landon, a careless teenage boy, never paid much attention to Jaime, the minister’s religion daughter. By fate, they got the chance to get to know each other and quickly fell in love. Upon finding out Jaime’s secret, Landon goes through significant changes that no doubt turned him into the man that he became. The ending was my only disappointing part. It leaves it up to your imagination to figure out what Landon meant in the last sentence of the book. Though it was creative and have a couple of ideas, I would have liked it better if I knew for sure what he really meant and was thinking. Besides that small point, I really enjoyed reading A Walk to Remember, a book full of love and hope.
