I thought this book was a cross between Gossip Girl, Mean Girls and Vampires but it did become a little bit more than that. I enjoyed this book. I was brought into the glitzy world of authors/artists living in Paris in the 1920's. Although this was a work of fiction, the author did quite a bit of research to remain quite true to the story. I really liked Hadley and do believe that she was the love of Ernest Hemmingway's life. I believe he allowed himself to get too caught up in the crowd he was running in, ultimately ruining his marriage with the choices he made. It seems clear in other references that he regretted these choices later in life. I knew going into the book that the marriage would end in divorce, and that there was another woman involved. What I did not realize was that this woman was a close friend of Hadley's. I was completely devastated over the turn of events. This novel has definitely piqued my interest in reading other Hemmingway novels and his memoir, A Moveable Feast.
