I really enjoyed this book, both as a sequel to The Sparrow and on its own merits. It's both heavier in the issues it addresses and stronger in its narrative than The Sparrow, although it covers so much ground and focuses on so many characters that it was difficult to get attached to all of them like I did in The Sparrow. It was great to get some closure for the tale, and I heartily approved all of Russell's decisions for her characters (which I don't always, with sequels). Children of God certainly didn't wrap anything up nicely, but satisfactorily. I still love Sandoz as a character, prickly as he may (understandably) be, and it was great to gain some insight into some of the other characters' actions.

As with many of the 33-1/3 series, the book made me re-listen to the album again. Nice background info, and it brought up connections that I hadn't really considered before (Kraftwerk in particular). Fun read.
