There isn't really much to be said about Shakespeare's plays. Everyone has read them, and everyone agrees they are excellent. Included for completeness I guess, though I'm not sure why I care. I will say that Othello is a pretty depressing lead character. Way to kill your wife over hearsay buddy.

Despite it's somewhat prescriptivist nature, you have to love a story about vampires, sex-shifters, and cartographers in a bizarre alternate dimension that doubles as a dictionary for fun words like odalisque.

This book should have been better than it was. It did a good job of describing the harsh upbringing of Spartan warriors, and the brutal (even fatal) conditions they underwent during their training. But the map of Thermopylae and the description of the conditions and terrain left something to be desired. I did not get the feel of the terrain advantage of the Spartans which allowed them to hold out for so long against such incredibly insurmountable odds. I give this only a 5 in my personal rating system of 1-to-10.
